Athens, Ga. ? After 83 years of futility, Georgia is getting used to beating Kentucky.

Levi Stukes bounced back from a miserable first half to finish with 12 points — all on three-pointers — and the Bulldogs completed a season sweep of No. 8 Kentucky with a 74-68 victory Saturday.

Jonas Hayes had 19 points and Rashad Wright and Damien Wilkins each added 14 for the Bulldogs (12-10, 4-7 Southeastern Conference), who beat the Wildcats 65-57 earlier this season.

“This is just a little part of what we’re trying to do,” Hayes said. “This is just a step in our ultimate goal of getting back to the NCAA Tournament.”

First-year Georgia coach Dennis Felton improved to 3-0 in his career against Kentucky, including one win when he was at Western Kentucky.

The Bulldogs completed their second sweep of Kentucky in three years. Like most programs in the SEC, they don’t have much success against the Wildcats — they’re 21-101 all-time — and they won consecutive games for only the sixth time since the series started in 1921.

But Hayes and Wright have been a part of two of those teams, and they have also won two of the last three games in Rupp Arena. Georgia has only one other victory on that court.

“Their intentions and effort and willingness have been very much appreciated by me,” Felton said of his senior class. “They have never shown any unwillingness to this team with all they could muster.”

The Wildcats (17-4, 7-3) clearly missed leading scorer Gerald Fitch, who sat out his third straight game because of a sprained right index finger. They committed 22 turnovers, including five by reserve guards Josh Carrier and Brandon Stockton, and shot only 41 percent in the second half.

Kelenna Azubuike had a career-high 23 points and Cliff Hawkins added 16 for Kentucky. But Erik Daniels and Chuck Hayes, the team’s second- and third-leading scorers, combined for only 13 points.

“We can’t win when Chuck is missing layups like that,” Wildcats coach Tubby Smith said. “It was just ridiculous. And Erik was just running around scared to death. He wonders why we didn’t get him the ball.”

No. 2 Stanford 69, California 58

Berkeley, Calif. — Rob Little scored 16 points to lead Stanford to its school-record 21st straight victory.

Josh Childress added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Cardinal (21-0, 12-0 Pac-10), playing for the first time since a thrilling 80-77 victory over Arizona last weekend that ended on Nick Robinson’s 35-foot three-pointer at the buzzer.

Marquise Kately had 16 points and Amit Tamir 14 for cold-shooting Cal (11-10, 7-5). The Golden Bears had won three straight and many thought this was the game in which the Cardinal could be most susceptible to an upset after the Bears lost at Stanford last month, 68-61.

Stanford, off to its best start ever, is one of only two remaining undefeated Division One teams along with third-ranked Saint Joseph’s (22-0).

No. 3 Saint Joseph’s 73, Rhode Island 59

Philadelphia — Jameer Nelson scored 20 points, and Delonte West added 14 points and nine assists to help Saint Joseph’s remain undefeated.

Tyrone Barley had four three-pointers and scored 14 points for the Hawks (22-0, 11-0 Atlantic 10) who extended their school-record winning streak.

Brian Woodward had 19 points and 13 rebounds for the Rams (14-11, 3-8), who have tailed off since their 13-2 start. Dawan Robinson, who was averaging a team-high 17.3 points, finished with only six points on 2-for-13 shooting.

Saint Joe’s turned the game around in the opening minutes of the second half, getting two three-pointers from Pat Carroll during a 13-2 run that made it 49-33.

No. 6 Mississippi State 77, Arkansas 70

Fayetteville, Ark. — Winsome Frazier scored 23 points, including four free throws in the final 1:32, to lead Mississippi State to its first win at Arkansas in 32 years. The Bulldogs (21-1, 10-1 Southeastern Conference) improved to 10-0 on the road — 6-0 in league play — this season. They last won at Arkansas (11-11, 3-8) in 1972 and had been 0-12 there since 1992, when the Razorbacks joined the SEC. Jonathon Modica finished with a career-high 33 points for Mississippi State. Lawrence Roberts added his 13th double-double, finishing with 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Bulldogs.

Moraga, Calif. — Adam Morrison had 22 points, and Gonzaga scored 16 straight points late in the second half to clinch the West Coast Conference regular-season title. Blake Stepp scored 13 of his 16 points in the second half for the Bulldogs (21-2, 11-0), who won the regular-season conference championship for the sixth time in seven years and tied a school record with their 14th consecutive win.

No. 15 Georgia Tech 80

Charlottesville, Va. — Todd Billet made a three-pointer from the top of the key with 2.4 seconds left — his only field goal of the game — to give Virginia the win. The victory snapped a five-game losing streak for Virginia (13-9, 3-8 Atlantic Coast Conference). B.J. Elder had 22 points for the Yellow Jackets (18-6, 5-5), who had one last chance to win, but Will Bynum’s off-balance three-pointer was well off as time ran out.

No. 16 Arizona 107, UCLA 83

Tucson, Ariz. — Salim Stoudamire scored a career-high 34 points, and Andre Iguodala set an Arizona record with his third triple-double. Chris Rodgers added 16 points — one shy of his career best — and four steals as the Wildcats (16-6, 8-5 Pac-10) matched their season high in points and beat UCLA for the seventh straight time at McKale Center. Dijon Thompson had 20 points for the Bruins (10-11, 6-7), who shot 66 percent (33-for-50) but committed 28 turnovers that resulted in 50 points for Arizona.

Iguodala was just 2-for-11 from the field — 0-for-6 in the second half — but was 9-of-10 from the free-throw line to finish with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. He became the first Arizona player to have three triple-doubles — all this season. Loren Woods had two.

Madison, Wis. — Devin Harris scored 33 points to lead Wisconsin to its biggest rout over the Buckeyes since the series began in 1905. The Badgers (17-4, 8-2) stayed in first place in the Big Ten and improved to 22-0 in conference games at the Kohl Center under third-year coach Bo Ryan. Wisconsin has won 26 straight games at the Kohl Center with an average margin of victory of 20.5 points. J.J. Sullinger had 14 points for Ohio State (11-12, 3-7).

No. 19 Utah State 60

Stockton, Calif. — Miah Davis scored 18 points and Pacific held Utah State scoreless in the final 3:25, snapping the Aggies’ 17-game winning streak. The Aggies (20-2, 12-1 Big West Conference), ranked for the first time since 1971, fell two victories short of the longest winning streak in school history. Utah State’s streak was the fourth-longest in the nation.

LSU 73, No. 22 Florida 70

Gainesville, Fla. — Darrel Mitchell scored 18 points, including the tying basket and go-ahead free throws in the final two minutes, to lead LSU to its sixth straight win. The Tigers (17-4, 7-3 Southeastern Conference) trailed by eight points with 4:02 remaining, but closed the game on a 15-4 run. Jaime Lloreda had 19 points and nine rebounds for LSU, ending his streak of double-doubles at five. Matt Walsh had 24 points for Florida (14-7, 5-5), which lost for the third time in four games.

Springfield, Mo. — Darren Brooks scored 19 points for Southern Illinois (20-2, 14-0 Missouri Valley Conference), including the go-ahead three-pointer with just more than two minutes left, and he grabbed a key offensive rebound of his own miss with 24 seconds left to seal its 12th straight win.

No. 24 Providence 61, Boston College 52

Boston — Ryan Gomes had 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Rob Sanders hit a three-pointer to key an 11-0 run late in the second half for Providence. Gomes, the No. 2 scorer and rebounder in the Big East, topped 20 points for the 12th time this season for the Friars (17-5, 8-3), who have won three straight and nine of their last 11.

No. 25 South Carolina 82, Vanderbilt 75

Columbia, S.C. — Michael Boynton Jr. had a career-best five three-pointers for all 15 of his points, and South Carolina ended a two-game losing streak. Boynton had a painful, swollen abscess removed from his right calf earlier this week after he was apparently bitten by an insect. He didn’t practice Thursday with the Gamecocks (20-5, 7-4 Southeastern Conference), but was in the starting lineup with the calf wrapped tight. Matt Freije led Vanderbilt (15-6, 4-6) with 16 points but was 0-for-4 on threes.
