The bride-to-be is the daughter of Terry and Phyllis Jorgensen, Lodi, Calif. She is a graduate of Lodi High School. She is pursuing a degree in special education at Washburn University. She works for the Lawrence school district.

The future groom is a Lawrence High School graduate. He works as an HVAC technician in Lawrence.

The couple plan an Aug. 14 wedding at Danforth Chapel in Lawrence.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Rick and Twila Culver, Olathe. She is a graduate of Berean Christian School. She received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Sterling College. She is an English teacher and children’s minister at Sooyoungro Presbyterian Church in Busan, South Korea.

The future groom is a Free State High School graduate. He earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Sterling College. He is an English teacher and youth minister at Sooyoungro Presbyterian Church in Busan, South Korea.

The couple plan an October wedding.

Gary and Rayna Hickman, Eudora, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristina Lynn Hickman, Kansas City, Mo., to Christopher Austin Burton, Kansas City, Mo., son of Sherry Burton, Overland Park, and the late Kenneth Burton.

The future bride is the granddaughter of Lawrence and Rilla Nixon, Eudora; Evelyn Hickman, De Soto; and the late Lester Hickman. She is a graduate of Eudora High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Kansas State University and a master’s degree in teaching and leadership from Kansas University. She is a kindergarten teacher in Kansas City, Kan.

The future groom is the grandson of Dee and Ted Clawson, Kansas City, Mo. He is a graduate of Center High School. He is employed as a repair/cable technician with Southwestern Bell Telecommunications.

The couple plan a June 26 wedding at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. A reception will be July 31 at the Abdallah Shrine Temple in Mission.

The future groom is a 1999 graduate of Lawrence High School. He received a degree in golf course management from Kansas State University in 2003.

The couple plan an April 24 wedding at the United Methodist Church in LaCrosse.
