Injury accident

  • A 30-year-old Eudora woman suffered injuries Saturday when another driver slid on snow and ice and struck her vehicle in an intersection. Natalie N. Casagrande was driving a Honda Odyssey van north on East 2100 Road about 12:05 p.m. when a Chevrolet pickup driven by Donald W. Honeycutt, 29, Savannah, Mo., failed to stop on westbound North 1200 Road, a Douglas County sheriff’s report said. Casagrande was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for treatment. Passengers in the two vehicles were not injured. The Sheriff’s Office cited Honeycutt for driving too fast for road conditions.

Burglaries and thefts reported

  • Someone broke into a safe at Ecumenical Christian Ministries, 1204 Oread Ave., and took $40 currency and $280 in personal checks, according to a report. The burglary happened between 10 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday.
  • Officials at the St. Lawrence Catholic Center, 1631 Crescent Road, reported Monday they found evidence someone tried to break into the building the previous night. Nothing was missing.
