Kaws’ Kennedy tapped

Perry-Lecompton’s Spencer Kennedy is one of 1,600 high school seniors nominated for the McDonald’s All-America basketball team. Kennedy, a 6-foot-6 center, averages 14 points and 10 rebounds a game for the Kaws. Free State High’s Dain Dillingham also is a McDonald’s nominee.

West-Southwest boys

Friday’s scheduled West-Southwest junior high boys basketball games will be played today. The eighth grade game will begin at 10 a.m. and the ninth grade game will follow in the Southwest gym.

Seabury postponed

Seabury Academy’s boys and girls basketball games Friday at Flint Hills Christian were postponed because of weather. No makeup date has been determined.
