Beatrice O. Pine

? Memorial services for Beatrice Olive Pine, 89, Manhattan, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel in Manhattan. Burial will be at a later date in Sunrise Cemetery, Manhattan.

Mrs. Pine died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan. She donated her body to the Kansas University Medical Center.

She was born April 20, 1914, in Emmett, the daughter of Harvey A. and Elma (Morrow) Lasswell. She graduated from Emmett High School, Kansas State University and the nursing program at Kansas University Medical Center. She had lived in Manhattan since 1939.

Mrs. Pine was a registered nurse for a short time. She was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church. She volunteered at a hospital, visiting patients on the mental health wing.

She married Wilfred H. Pine on Sept. 3, 1939. He died March 30, 1995.

Survivors include a son, Stan Pine, Kalispell, Mont.; a daughter, Janet Pine, Vacaville, Calif.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Children’s Service League, sent in care of the funeral home, 1616 Poyntz Ave., Manhattan 66502.
