Hector Elizondo narrates “Remember the Alamo” on “American Experience” (8 p.m., PBS, check local listings), a documentary that sets out to explode many historical and Hollywood myths about the famous siege and the war with Mexico.

Both history books and popular movies have portrayed the battle for Texas independence as a struggle between Anglos and Mexicans. “Remember” recalls the pivotal role played by Tejanos, Mexicans who had been living in the land that became Texas. The film argues that Tejano leader Jose Antonio Navarro had as much to do with Texas independence as Jim Bowie and Davy Crockett.

l Given the proliferation of “reality” TV shows, acting jobs are getting scarce. But some performers have more than their share. Professional neurotic Richard Lewis is quickly becoming the hardest-working guest star on television. In addition to his recurring role (as himself) on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and as a rabbi on “7th Heaven,” he now assumes the part of Charlie’s accountant on “Two and a Half Men” (8:30 p.m., CBS). Lewis joins Suzanne Pleshette (a grandmother on both “8 Simple Rules” and “Good Morning, Miami”) and Fred Willard (with roles on both “A Minute with Stan Hooper” and “Everybody Loves Raymond”) as one of primetime’s most active moonlighters.
