Heartless act

To the editor:

I’m writing this letter to inform the person or persons who stole the two angels and an evergreen reindeer from my foster sister’s and grandparents’ grave in Memorial Park Cemetery, you have caused my foster family much pain and hurt.

I have been going out the past 20 years on Christmas Eve day with my foster mother to decorate our loved ones’ graves. The temperature was 13 degrees and the ground was so frozen we had to go buy some nail spikes so I could pound them in the ground so we could attach the decorations with wire to ensure they wouldn’t blow away. We were on our knees over two hours placing decorations on 12 different grave sites.

On Christmas Day my foster mother went back out to check on the decorations and found someone had stolen some decorations. Whoever stole the decorations, please think twice the next time about picking up something that doesn’t belong to you on graves. These decorations and trinkets are placed there by those of us who can’t be with our loved ones on Christmas. My foster sister has been in heaven just the past year and half and Christmas was one of her favorite holidays. This made it hard for the family because you took something off her grave on her favorite holiday.
