Three Lawrence venues will help teenagers and preteens ring in the new year Friday night:

• New Year’s Eve Celebration Overnighter, 8 p.m.-8 a.m., for children 5 to 12, Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 W. 27th St., 832-7940.

Cost: $23. Deadline to register is 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Air hockey, foosball, pool, pingpong, basketball, pizza at night, donuts in morning.

• New Year’s Eve Party, Royal Crest Lanes, Ninth and Iowa streets, 10 p.m.-2 a.m.

Cost: $20.

Cosmic bowling, mini-golf, breakfast, live band.

• Googols of Fun 2005, Googols of Fun, Sixth Street and Wakarusa Drive, 5 p.m.-9 p.m.

Cost: $4.50 for 1- and 2-year-olds, $6.50 for 3-year-olds through teens, adults admitted free

Youths will recognize the new year traditions of Brazil (6 p.m.), Scotland (7 p.m.) and Iceland (8 p.m.)
