Louis H. Keener

? Service for Louis H. Keener, 78, Topeka, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel in Topeka. Burial with military honors by Philip Billard Post No. 1650, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will follow in Emmanuel Cemetery southeast of Topeka.

Mr. Keener died Thursday, December 23, 2004, at a Topeka care facility.

He was born Feb. 20, 1926, in Wakefield, the son of Lee L. and Augusta A. Bregen Keener.

Mr. Keener was a Navy veteran of World War II, and worked as a mechanic for the Kansas National Guard until retiring in 1981. He was a member of the American Legion Capitol Post No. 1 and belonged to two senior bowling leagues.

He married Dorothy M. Benton on Aug. 22, 1952, in Osage City. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Terri L. Gibbs, rural Baldwin; a son, Everett L., rural Baldwin; a sister, Mary Jones, Abilene; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
