Ida Rose Hathaway

Mrs. Hathaway died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, at Hickory Pointe Care Center in Oskaloosa.

She was born March 26, 1930, in Picher, Okla., the daughter of George Lee and Edna Adele Ross Walker. She graduated from Picher High School in 1948 and attended business college in Miami, Okla. She moved in 1969 to Perry and in 1999 to Oskaloosa.

Mrs. Hathaway was a homemaker and worked for the state of Kansas during tax season for many years. She was a member of Perry United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Perry Civic Study Club.

She married William “George” Hathaway on Nov. 20, 1948, in Picher. He died Oct. 1, 1999.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis Allan Hathaway, Oahu, Hawaii, and Darrell C. Hathaway, Overbrook; a daughter, Gayle Ann Bruns, Oskaloosa; two brothers, Don and Ron Walker, both of Picher; a sister, Myrna Cawyer, Picher; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
