? Services for Edna “Lorie” Corbin, 82, Eudora, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Eudora United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.

Mrs. Corbin died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Nov. 11, 1922, in Zarah, the daughter of Harold T. and Bess Edna Leming Piper. She attended Monticella Grade School and graduated from DeSoto High School.

Mrs. Corbin worked at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant for four years during World War II. She also worked for Independent Laundry and retired after 17 years of floral design at Owens Flower Shop in Lawrence. She was a member of Eudora Methodist Church. She was in the church choir, the church Women’s Deborah Circle, the church Crocheting Club, Jolly Dozen Card Club, 1900 and Now Club and Eudora Red Hot Red Hat Ladies. She also was active in the Pinecrest Retirement Community in Eudora.

She married Charles Fredrick “Ted” Corbin in 1945, in Lawrence. He died July 29, 1987.

Survivors include a brother, Louis M. Piper, Chatham, Ill.; and two sisters, Virginia Curry, Merriam, and JoAnn Chambers, Dallas.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive them from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of the funeral home.
