Roy P. Barnes

? Services for Roy P. Barnes, 83, Topeka, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka. Burial will be in Muddy Creek Cemetery in Jackson County.

Mr. Barnes died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at his home.

He was born Jan. 19, 1921, near White City, S.D., the son of Charles B. and Anna Johnson Barnes. He grew up in Lawrence and moved to Topeka in the early 1950s.

Mr. Barnes served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a union electrician with Electrician’s Union No. 226. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Topeka. He also was a member of Moose Lodge No. 555 in Topeka, American Legion Post in Ozawkie, Arab Shrine Temple in Topeka, Topeka Scottish Rite Bodies and Golden Rule Lodge 90 AF & AM in Topeka.

He married Betty J. Gesey on Nov. 22, 1956, in Topeka. She died June 7, 1994.

Survivors include a daughter, Anna Barnes-Henneberg.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
