Allan V. Miller

? Services for Allan V. Miller, 57, Barton County, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ellinwood. Burial will be in Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood.

Mr. Miller died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, in Wichita in a car accident.

He was born May 11, 1947, in Great Bend, the son of Vernon L. and Betty C. Panning Miller. He was a lifelong resident of Barton County. He graduated from Ellinwood Rural High School in 1965. He graduated from Kansas State University, where he served as staff photographer for the K-State Collegian.

Mr. Miller was a farmer and rancher. He was co-owner of Cheyenne Angus Farms Inc. and Beautiful Beginnings Inc. in Great Bend. He was a private pilot and co-owner of 4-Way Aircraft Inc. He was a member, trustee and elder of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Barton County Fair Board and American Angus Assn., where he served as president in 1992. He also was president of Barton County Farm Bureau and a member of Central Kansas Photography Club. He was an active member in 4-H and was beef project leader for Ellinwood Energizers 4-H Club.

He married Charolyn Kay “Chari” Lacey on Aug. 15, 1970, in Ellinwood. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include his father, Great Bend; three daughters, Lori Greenfield and Julie Moran, both of Lawrence, and Jill Wiechman, Valley Center; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Kimple Funeral Home in Ellinwood.
