First Person video: Maggie Bornholdt part 1

Maggie Bornholdt counsels current and future small business owners for the Kansas University Small Business Development Center in downtown Lawrence. Prior to her move to Lawrence, Maggie was a forensic investigator.

What is forensics you might ask? Maggie would tell you that, “in the context of death investigation, forensics is the marriage of science and technology with the legal system.”

Maggie worked as a Medical Legal Investigator (or Forensic Investigator) and Internship Director of the Office of the Medical Examiner in Delaware County, Pennsylvania outside Philadelphia. She served primarily as a death scene investigator with a specialty in child and infant deaths. She also served on the Child Death Review Team.

Here Maggie talks about her opinion on television shows that depict forensic investigations.
