KU’s Page sparks U.S. bowling team

Kansas University’s Rhino Page played a key role as the U.S. bowling team cruised to the adult team title in the Tournament of the Americas last weekend in Miami.

Page rolled a 300 game, then ran off 10 consecutive strikes to start the next game before finishing with a 288. Combined with his 245 first game, Page set a tourney record with an 833 series.

The other U.S. team members were Richard Fairley of Lynchburg, Va.; Jennifer Petrick of Canton, Ohio; and Holly Hoopii of Honolulu. The team finished with a total of 10,322. Colombia was second at 9,970.

Page, a junior from San Diego, was named MVP of the Intercollegiate Bowling Championships last spring after leading KU to its first team title since 1963.
