Arden E. Johnson

Mr. Johnson died Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, at Baldwin Care Center.

He was born Nov. 5, 1916, in the Clearfield community, the son of Grover and Emma Brecheisen Johnson.

Mr. Johnson worked at Sunflower Ordnance Depot in De Soto as a carpenter, and in the dairy industry in rural Douglas County until he retired. He was a member of a coffee club in Baldwin, and the Eagles Lodge in Ottawa.

He married Winnie Mae Smiley on June 19, 1937, in Douglas County. She died Sept. 16, 1986. He married Sarah Cox on May 30, 1989, in Miami, Okla. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Ernest, Oklahoma City, and Don, Baldwin; a daughter, Bonnie Johnson, Lawrence; a brother, Othie, rural Eudora; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A granddaughter died earlier.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin.
