Shame on Kline

To the editor:

This is a public service announcement. With guitar.

Shame on you, Atty. Gen. Kline. The actions of an American attorney should be informed by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. To censor what materials our public libraries receive based on personal views of what “promotes violence or illegal activities” is not your prerogative. The Attorney General’s Office is not that of Arts Czar — or, so far, Ministry of Truth.

By the way, our libraries’ shelves and video and CD racks already contain thousands of works of violence and illegal activity — as they should.

Don’t get any ideas.

Jake Vail,
