Missouri prep taps UNC

Tyler Hansbrough’s news conference today will be anticlimactic.

Hansbrough, a 6-foot-9 power forward from Poplar Bluff, Mo., and No. 8-rated player nationally, orally committed to North Carolina, choosing the Tar Heels over Kansas University, Missouri and Kentucky.

“I made my final decision last Monday after returning from vacation and I had just thought things through. I told my parents that I wanted to go to North Carolina, and they were very happy for me,” Hansbrough told rivals.com Sunday.

“My relationship with coach (Roy) Williams was the deciding factor in my decision. I started reading ‘The Carolina Way’ just last week, and now I get to be a part of that very soon.”

KU this weekend will receive visits from the Texas duo of C.J. Miles and Kevin Rogers.
