— David B. Meadows has been named publisher of the Dodge City Daily Globe, a Morris Communications Co. daily newspaper.

Meadows will start on Sept. 7. He succeeds Terry G. Cochran, said William S. Morris IV, the company's president and chief executive officer.

Meadows is currently the general manager of The Topeka Capital-Journal, another Morris newspaper.

He joined the company in 1994 as a prepress manager at the Savannah Morning News, and held several jobs there before taking over as general manager at the Capital-Journal in 2002.

Prior to working for Morris, Meadows spent 10 years with Gannett Co. Inc.

Morris publishes 26 daily, 12 nondaily and 23 free community newspapers in the United States. The media conglomerate has headquarters in Augusta, Ga.
