Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A neighbor heard broken glass between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. at a vacant home in the 900 block of Mississippi Street. Police responded and found four windows broken and paper towels that had been set on fire inside the home, according to a report.

¢ A Lawrence woman’s 1994 Acura Integra worth $3,000 was reported taken between noon and 1 p.m. Sunday from the 4800 block of West Sixth Street.

  • A 38-year-old Lawrence woman reported $2,000 in cash stolen from a vehicle about 2 a.m. Friday in the 3200 block of Iowa Street.
  • Someone stole a $1,200 laptop computer, camcorder, digital camera and other items from a 19-year-old Kansas University student’s apartment at Jefferson Commons, 2511 W. 31st St., according to a report. The theft happened between 8 a.m. and 1:15 Wednesday.
  • Another laptop theft happened between 2 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Friday in the 1700 block of Ohio Street. The victim, a 23-year-old KU student, also reported medication, $100 cash and 40 compact discs stolen.
  • Scrap aluminum worth $1,000 disappeared sometime late Thursday or early Friday from the 1800 block of Vermont Street, according to a report. The materials belonged to McPherson Wrecking of Grantville.
