‘The War’
The pain shows in the families’ eyes
as the numbers increase of the loss of lives.
Soldiers trudge by with guns on their backs;
tanks roll past leaving their tracks;
blood in the streets
combat continues
violence all over, hurting the troops.
Sadness takes over this tiny place,
the battle is within
me.
