KU adds strength coach; Hinrichs visits N. Colorado

KU adds strength coach

Andrea Hudy, who worked as associate strength and conditioning coordinator at the University of Connecticut the past 10 years, has been named to a similar position at Kansas University.

Hudy will work with women’s basketball, volleyball and some of the Olympic sports at Kansas. The University of Maryland graduate worked with men’s basketball and other sports at UConn.

“She is a very well respected strength coach and had a tremendous amount to do with the vast success of both the men’s and women’s programs at Connecticut. We’re lucky to have her at Kansas,” KU associate athletic director Jim Marchiony said of Hudy, who worked extensively with the United States field hockey team from 1996 to ’98.

Hinrichs visits N. Colorado

Jay Hinrichs, Kansas University associate athletic director for facilities planning, visited the Northern Colorado campus Monday in Greeley.

Hinrichs is one of five finalists to fill the school’s vacant athletic director’s position. Former Utah State AD Rance Pugmire was scheduled to visit the campus Tuesday.

Finalists interviewed earlier were Mark Harlan, associate AD at UNC; Chris Massaro, senior associate AD at South Carolina; and Jim O’Day, director of development at Montana.
