Litter boxes should be placed in convenient spot

Realtors say one of the most important selling points for business property is location, location, location. This same principle can help solve cat litter box problems.

Pet owners think that if they just put a litterbox out any place in their house, a cat will go to wherever it is to use it. Consider the way a realtor thinks about the placement of a store. If the store is a long distance away or hard to get to, people will shop someplace closer.

Make sure cat boxes are in easy locations, not a long trek away or behind the bumping clothes dryer. Cats also don’t like high traffic areas and don’t want to use a cat box next to their food. Who would? You wouldn’t want to eat in a latrine, so don’t feed your cat next to its litter box.

Convenience stores are frequently used because they are, well, convenient. If you want your cat to do its business in the right location, make sure your litter boxes are convenient for your cat.
