KU trips Texas Tech at Big 12 tennis meet

? The good news for Kansas University’s tennis team is the ninth-seeded Jayhawks defeated No. 8 Texas Tech, 4-1, in the first round of the Big 12 Conference tournament Thursday at Oklahoma.

The bad news for KU is a date with top-seeded Texas looms at 9 a.m. today.

Kansas (7-15) took charge early against Tech (11-10), claiming the doubles point by winning two matches, then advanced by winning three singles matches.
