Free State High’s boys golf squad enjoyed good scoring conditions Thursday in a dual against Mill Valley at Lawrence Country Club. The Firebirds earned a team score of 358, beating the Jaguars by 11 strokes.

Nick Burkart led FSHS with a score of 85. Andy Frye and Scott Mosley each shot 90, Hamilton Lewis posted 93, Nick Martinez shot 98 and Ry Pederson finished in 99.

“It was a great day to score,” FSHS coach Jack Schreiner said.

For Mill Valley, Brian Polcar shot 90, followed by Cody Cansler (91), Andrew Demo (93), Aaron Rieke (95), Jake Summerlin (97) and Michael Scanlon (101).

Free State travels Monday to the Shawnee Mission East Invitational.
