Carolyn S. Thomas

? Graveside services for Carolyn S. Thomas, 55, Ottawa, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Highland Cemetery.

Ms. Thomas died Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at Olathe Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 30, 1948, in Boonville, Mo., the daughter of Lester Leo and Leona Buehler Thomas. She lived in Glasgow, Mo., Forest City, Mo., Mayville, N.D., and Haysville before she moved in 1967 to Pomona and in 1973 to Ottawa.

Ms. Thomas attended the Adult Education Center of Ottawa at the time of her death. She was a day-care provider for children and the elderly. She also worked at King Radio, was a maid for Hallmark Inn, was a laundry maid for Royal Manor and retired from the cleaning department of the Wal-Mart Distribution Center, all in Ottawa. She was a member of Mayville Baptist Church in North Dakota and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Survivors include her mother, Ottawa; a brother, Robert Thomas, Butler, Mo.; and two sisters, Mary Hayworth, Tucson, Ariz., and Janet Payne, Ottawa.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 a.m. until the service Monday at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa.
