Patriot Act OK

To the editor:

I think it is an insult to our veterans and to the men and women who are now serving our country in the military and to those who have died in war defending our freedoms and to those who have died at the hands of terrorists that our self-serving city commissioners would publicly condemn the Patriot Act. It is not a threat at all to law-abiding citizens of this country. Quite frankly, if someone is making a bomb in their apartment, I think we need to know about it!

Maybe it would serve this city right to publicly lose ALL federal monies for local projects such as airport improvements, among others. The Lawrence City Commission has NO right to speak on my behalf on this issue. They need to worry about fixing the potholes around town instead of wasting time sharing their liberal views about the Patriot Act.

All except Sue Hack have lost my vote in the next election! For the rest of you, I will buy each of you a one-way plane ticket to the Arab country of your choice, and I will make certain that all of your fellow passengers are allowed to bring anything they want on board with them so you won’t be offended! Good luck!

Clay Kappelman,

Lawrence
