Ruth Olive Knaus Barton

? Services for Ruth Olive Knaus Barton, 73, Centropolis, will be at 2 p.m. today at Old German Baptist Brethren Church, west of Centropolis. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, west of Centropolis.

Mrs. Barton died Saturday, April 17, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 19, 1930, in Miami, the daughter of Harley and Alberta Snow Knaus. She grew up spending winters in Miami and summers in Knob Noster, Mo. She moved to Centropolis in 1964.

Mrs. Barton was a homemaker. She was a member of Old German Baptist Brethren Church of Eight Mile, District of Kansas, in Centropolis.

She married Melvin Barton on July 5, 1964, in Knob Noster. He died Feb. 25, 1983.

Survivors include two daughters, Lydia Bayer, Wirtz, Va., and Anne Brubaker, Centropolis; two sisters, Catherine Hirt, Knob Noster, and Martha Knaus, Garnett; a brother, John Knaus, Knob Noster; and five grandchildren.
