Raymond R. Peterson

Manhattan ? Services for Raymond R. Peterson, 84, Manhattan, will be 10:30 a.m. today at Holmes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley. Burial will be in Crooked Creek Cemetery, north of Leonardville.

Mr. Peterson died Friday, April 16, 2004, at Mercy Regional Health Center, Manhattan.

He was born Oct. 25, 1919, in Leonardville, the son of Rudolph and Ruth Peterson.

He was a farmer and also had worked for Walters Construction and John’s Creamery, in Manhattan. He also graded roads for the Riley County Highway Department, retiring in 1984.

He married Arlene Aeschliman on Oct. 14, 1951, in Sabetha. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Dennis and Rodney, both of Manhattan; a daughter, Brenda Peterson-Smith, Lawrence; two sisters, Peggy Norman, Manhattan, and Maxine Soldan, Topeka; and six grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Anneberg Park Kids Fishing Derby fund.
