Olathe ? Lawrence High’s softball squad had a chance to get on the right track with a doubleheader Thursday against Olathe South.

Consider the Lions still derailed.

Olathe South beat LHS, 6-3 and 6-1, for a sweep of the twinbill at Olathe District Activities Center.

Freshman Lauren Kelly was 3-for-6 overall for the Lions (1-5), but that was about the only LHS bright spot.

Whitney Juneau and Lisa Pearse picked up the losses for the Lions.

“We played a team that was about the same ability as ours, and we walked away with two losses, so that’s discouraging,” LHS coach Reenie Stogsdill said. “We have a ways to go.”

LHS will travel Tuesday to Olathe North.
