Baldwin Four people were injured today when two cars and a semitrailer collided about 2 miles east of Baldwin.
The Kansas Highway Patrol was still investigating the accident, which was reported at 11:34 a.m. on U.S. Highway 56 near East 1900 Road, dispatchers said. Traffic on U.S. 56 east of Baldwin was being diverted this afternoon.
All of the injured were men and one was taken by helicopter ambulance to Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., said Mark Bradford, deputy chief with Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical.
Two other men were taken by ground ambulance to Overland Park Regional Medical Center and the fourth victim was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Bradford said.
The names of the injured had not been released.
