No more full house

Los Angeles — Married life is over for “Full House” actor John Stamos and “X-Men” actress Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, the former Victoria’s Secret model.

They have separated after five years of marriage, publicist Lewis Kay said Monday.

“The split is amicable, and they have asked that the media please respect their privacy regarding this situation during this difficult time,” Kay said.

Stamos, 40, and Romijn-Stamos, 31, married in September 1998.

Romijn-Stamos will appear on “The Tonight Show” at 10:35 p.m. today on NBC.

On to Parliament

Tallinn, Estonia — Supermodel Carmen Kass will take a temporary stroll off the catwalk and onto the political stage after the native Estonian was tapped to run for the European Parliament.

The 25-year-old joined the ruling Res Publica party two months ago to get a spot on the pro-business party’s ticket. Res Publica formally put her on its list of 12 candidates at a party meeting Saturday.

The small Baltic Sea coast country joins the European Union on May 1 along with nine other mainly former communist countries. Elections to the EU’s main representative body, which has limited powers in the bloc, are scheduled for June 13.

Res Publica leaders said they hoped the frequent Vogue cover girl could use her fame to generate more interest in Estonia.

Never the bridesmaids

Los Angeles — Screen brides Nia Vardalos and Toni Collette are going undercover as drag queens.

Vardalos, who wrote and starred in 2002’s surprise blockbuster “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” and Collette, whose breakout role came with the 1994 Australian hit “Muriel’s Wedding,” team up as pals on the run in “Connie and Carla,” opening Friday.

“We certainly realized the comparison between our lives, the two wedding girls in this movie,” Vardalos, 41, told The Associated Press.

Written by Vardalos, “Connie and Carla” is the tale of performers (Vardalos and Collette) who witness a mob killing and — similar to “Some Like It Hot” — hit the road and perform as drag queens for a disguise.
