John L. ‘Jack’ Riley

— A celebration of life memorial service for John L. "Jack" Riley, 90, Golden, was March 30 at Woods Mortuary in Golden.

Mr. Riley died March 27, 2004.

He was born Nov. 2, 1913, in Lawrence, Kan., the son of John E. and Francis Riley. He graduated from Oread High School on the Kansas University campus. He lived in Lawrence until he moved to Longmont in 1969.

Mr. Riley served in the Navy and in the Merchant Marines in World War II. He retired from the Lawrence post office after 34 years of service.

He married Pauline Ikenberry in June 1936. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Jim, Houston, and Mike, Arvada; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Assn.
