Compared to last week, slaughter steers and heifers were not well tested. Feedlot trading was very active last week and prices were 2.00-3.00 higher live from 86.00-87.00 and mostly 5.00 higher dressed from 137.00-138.00. The demand for slaughter cows and bulls continues to be very good with cows selling firm to 2.00 higher and bulls fully steady.

Slaughter Steers: Pkg Choice 3-4 1460 lb heavyweight 76.00.

Slaughter Cows: Breaking 70-80 percent lean 46.00-50.50, high dressing up to 53.00. Boning 80-85 percent lean 47.50-50.00, high dressing 50.00-52.00, low dressing 42.00-48.50. Lean 85-90 percent lean 41.25-47.00, high dressing 47.00-49.00, low dressing 36.00-40.00.

Slaughter Bulls: Few Yield Grade 1-2 1615-2355 lbs 60.00-65.00, individual fleshy and low dressing 52.50.

Feeder Cows: Medium and Large 1-2 985-1075 lbs 57.00-60.00.

Bred Cows: Medium and Large 1-2 Short and solid mouthed to aged 950-1265 lb mixed colored and quality mostly 2nd stage bred cows 550.00-625.00.
