Warrene Gibbens

Lecompton ? Graveside services for Warrene Gibbens, 83, Tonganoxie, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lecompton.

Mrs. Gibbens died Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at Tonganoxie Nursing Center.

She was born Oct. 4, 1920, in Martin, S.D., the daughter of George Warren and Elsie Mae Skalinder Spaulding. She graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., in 1944.

Mrs. Gibbens was a member of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Lawrence.

She married Denzel R. Gibbens on Jan. 7, 1945, in Lawrence. He died April 12, 1991.

Survivors include two sons, Michael D. Gibbens and Denzel W. Gibbens, both of Tonganoxie; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie.
