Harriett L. Rhodes

Oskaloosa ? Services for Harriett L. Rhodes, 87, Ottawa, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oskaloosa United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Oskaloosa.

Mrs. Rhodes died Monday, April 5, 2004, at Ottawa Retirement Village.

She was born May 26, 1916, in Peru, Ind., the daughter of Harry and Sally L. Johnston Williams. She graduated from Beech Grove (Ind.) High School and the University of Indianapolis.

Mrs. Rhodes was an English teacher and librarian at Oskaloosa High School for more than 29 years. She was a member of the Kentucky Colonels Assn.

She married Milton Donald Rhodes on Aug. 14, 1945, in Indiana. He died July 6, 1976.

A son, Bruce Rhodes, died Jan. 17, 1990.

Survivors include a son, Darrell Rhodes, Baldwin; a daughter, Roberta Rhodes, Ottawa; and four grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
