Grant E. Love

Mr. Love died Friday, April 2, 2004, at Brandon Wood Retirement Community. He was cremated.

He was born June 14, 1917, in Lawrence, the son of Raymond and Susie (Parks) Love.

Mr. Love served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the FAME Ribbon.

He was terminal manager for Mid-America Truck Lines in Arkansas City for 40 years.

Mr. Love was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Ponca City, Okla.

He married Ruth Goldie French in 1942. She died in 1999.

Survivors include two brothers, Lee, Lawrence, and James E., Valley Falls; and a sister, Lucille Tuckel, Lawrence.

The family suggests memorials to Disabled American Veterans or the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
