The Lawrence 299ers’ Duplicate Bridge Club met March 24. Five tables participated in a stratified game that used a Mitchell movement. Don Brennaman directed the game.

Competing North-South, Donna Munson and Carol Lombardi finished in first place in A. Ann Thompson and Julie Ward placed second in A and first in B and C. Sitting East-West, Helen Huffman and Bob Huffman finished first in A. John Gilbert and Judy Bevan placed second in A and first in B. Jan Darting and Janet Williams took first in C.

Sitting North-South, Don Daugherty and Harry Talley swept first place in A, B and C. Yvonne Hedges and Shirley Reese placed second in A and B. Chris Lane and Julia Brooks were third in A. Shirlie Vaughn and Virginia Eddy took fourth in A. Playing the East-West cards, Paul Heitzman and Dave Piro finished first in A. Chuck Hedges and Don Brennaman placed second in A and first in B and C. Klee Zaricky and Sally Taylor took third in A and second in B. Linda Swain and Linda Randall were fourth in A, third in B and second in C. Gladys Rivard and Lester Dalton finished fifth in A. Madelyn Jenks and Mona Bell placed third in C.

Sally Taylor and Shirlie Vaughn placed third in A and second in B. Pat Burgstahler and Martie Hartman were third in B. Competing East-West, Freda Gilmore and Bruce McKeithan finished first place in A. John Hickey and Patt Radford took second in A. Paul Heitzman and Dave Piro were third in A. Julia Brooks and Lester Dalton placed fourth in A. Lois Clark and Russ LaForce took first in B and C. Manjiri Vaidya and Yadu Manjiri placed second in B and C.

  • University Bridge Club announces the winners of its March 27 game. Hosts were Karmie and Edna Galle and Bob and Jean Etherton.

Blue winners were Alice Akins, first; Marian Lang, second; George Bocquin, third; Ruth Harwood, fourth; and Jean Khatib, fifth. Pink winners were Ailene Bocquin, first; Florence McNicoll, second; Lois Liebert, third; Bette Lukens, fourth; and Hazel Stellmacher, fifth.

  • Lawrence Alumnae of Kappa Kappa Gamma will have a tea honoring the senior members of the Omega Chapter from Kansas University.
