To the editor:

An international symposium was held at Kansas University in early August. Bus route maps and an extensive restaurant listing were available for attendees.

The conference hotel was along Bus Route 3, and I personally heard one couple say that they were going to take the bus from the hotel to go downtown.

We had two people that would likely otherwise not have gone downtown take the bus and go downtown! The bus not only helps showcase the city but also brings tourist dollars downtown.

For people from countries accustomed to traveling by bus, taking the Lawrence bus would be natural to them.

I’m proud we have a bus system that helps bring extra dollars along its routes!
