Topeka ? A soldier who was killed last week in Saddam Hussein’s home city in Iraq has been identified as a Topeka man.
Army Spc. Kyle G. Thomas, 23, was killed Thursday in Tikrit by an improvised explosive device, the Department of Defense said.
Thomas was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, based in Fort Ederle, Italy.
No other details were released.
