— Ottawa topped 40 points for the third time in four games Friday night and held off Kansas City Turner, 44-30.

"Going in at halftime we were up 17-15, and the second half was a shootout," said Ottawa coach Pat Boeh, whose team improved to 4-0. "It was another good win on the road."

Ottawa's Dom Nation rushed for 180 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries, and Jason Houston carried the ball 15 times for 79 yards and four TDs. Quarterback Gabe Sheffield passed for 112 yards and ran for a TD, and Matt Leecy had four receptions for 84 yards.

"It was a good night," Boeh said. "A lot of people are helping us. The bottom line is our offensive line is doing a really good job right now."

The Cyclones are averaging 38 points a game behind the line of left tackle Josh Rusk, left guard Michael Espinosa, center Beau Bemis, right guard Caleb Blakesley and right tackle John Casady.

Ottawa will play host Friday to Sumner Academy.
