LIBERTY, MO. ? The Free State High girls’ tennis team finished fourth out of eight schools Saturday at the Liberty Invitational. Lawrence placed eighth.

Free State had three fourth-place finishes: Marisa Steinbach was 2-2 at No. 1 singles; Kristen Bushouse was 2-2 at No. 2 singles, and Brenna Spurgeon and Ellie Ott finished 2-2 at No. 2 doubles. The Firebirds’ No. 1 doubles tandem of Rachel Koch and Andrea Koch finished 0-3.

Free State plays host to Olathe South at 3 p.m. Monday.
