Johanning services

Worden ? Services for Carl Johanning, 87, Baldwin, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John’s United Church of Christ north of Worden. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.

Mr. Johanning died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

He was born Sept. 13, 1916, in Baldwin, the son of William Henry and Carrie M. (Hock) Johanning. He attended Willow Springs Grade School.

Mr. Johanning was a lifelong farmer and stockman in the Worden community. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ.

He married Katherine E. Brass on May 25, 1943, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Orville, Baldwin; a daughter, Sondra Nickel, Potomac, Md.; a sister, Helen Swelser, Topeka; and four grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin.
