Helen LaFon Roelfson Picone

Mrs. Picone died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, at her home.

She was born Sept. 22, 1920, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of William and Gladys Roelfson. She had lived in the Kansas City area all of her life.

Mrs. Picone worked for Owens Corning Fiberglass for 27 years before she retired in 1977.

She married Joseph Picone on Nov. 7, 1970. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Michael William Ducey, Bonner Springs; three daughters, Karon Ballard and Maureen Del Percio, both of Lawrence, and Melinda Sells, Bonner Springs; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the chapel, where a rosary will be said at 5 p.m. today.
