Grace Boyd Anderson

Services for Grace Boyd Anderson, 89, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Plymouth Congregational Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka.

Mrs. Anderson died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, at her home.

She was born June 20, 1914, in Downs, the daughter of Andrew and Jennie Dillon Cotton. She graduated from Downs High School and attended Barnes Commercial College in Denver. She was a longtime resident of Lawrence.

Mrs. Anderson was an administrative assistant in the Facilities Planning Office at Kansas University for 16 years before she retired in 1980. She had formerly worked for attorney George Allen. She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church, Pilot Club, Ladies of Lawrence Shrine, KU Retirees Club and American Legion Auxiliary. She also volunteered with Lawrence Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She married Richard K. Boyd in 1936. He died in July 1963. She married Lowry F. “Andy” Anderson on July 26, 1980. He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Thomas R. Boyd, Baldwin, Andrew C. Boyd, Dallas, and Robert D. Boyd, Lenexa; two stepsons, Tripp Anderson, Lawrence, and Andy Anderson, Overland Park; a stepdaughter, Becky Anderson, France; eight grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandsons.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Abdullah Shrine Crippled Children Transportation Fund or Hospice Care of Douglas County, sent in care of the mortuary.
