Authorities find remaining two victims of highway flood

The bodies of the remaining two victims from Saturday evening’s flood were found Tuesday morning — including the mother of the Liberty, Mo., family whose minivan was swept off Interstate 35 south of Emporia, according to the Kansas Turnpike Authority.

Melissa Rogers, 33, of Liberty, Mo., was found at 7:24 a.m., according to state troopers.

She had been traveling with her husband, Robert Rogers, and their four children. Her husband survived, but the children, Makenah, 8; Zachary, 5; Nicholas, 3; Alenah, 1, all drowned.

The Turnpike Authority said the body of Albert Larson, 31, of Fort Worth, Texas, was also found mid-morning Tuesday. He had been traveling alone.
