Law enforcement report

  • Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 40-year-old Lawrence man on suspicion of furnishing beer to minors after they were called to a party Saturday night at the man’s home in the 1500 block of East 1850 Road. There were an estimated 20 to 30 people at the party, many of whom were underage, and authorities determined the man had bought beer for them, said Lt. Kathy Tate, a spokeswoman for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Burglaries and thefts reported

  • Someone took a camcorder, camera and electronic game equipment sometime early Sunday from a residence in the 2600 block of Bonanza Street. The burglary was reported by a 49-year-old Lawrence woman.
  • Waste baskets, owl figurines, a portable television, a computer and $876 in cash were among the items reported taken between 5 p.m. Friday and 5:45 a.m. Saturday from an insurance office in the 1000 block of Westdale Road.
  • A trailer carrying a meat smoker disappeared sometime between Wednesday and Friday from Jack Ellena Honda, 2957 Four Wheel Drive. The goods were valued at $2,500.
  • A 21-year-old Kansas University student reported his Sony PlayStation, digital camera, $2,500 laptop computer and other property taken early Thursday morning from the 2400 block of Louisiana Street.
  • A laptop computer worth $1,200, a camera and a printer are missing from the dorm room of a 22-year-old Haskell Indian Nations University student. She reported the items taken from her room in Roe Cloud Hall, 155 Indian Ave., sometime between midnight Saturday and 1 a.m. Sunday.
