Kansas’ Price, KU men’s golf fifth at Nelson

? Kansas University Junior Andrew Price tied for fifth, and the KU men’s golf team placed fifth at the Nelson Invitational, which concluded Sunday at the 6,786-yard, par-71 Stanford Golf Course.

Kansas shot a three-round total of 844, 10 strokes behind team champion Duke. Washington was second with 837, followed by Colorado (842) and Colorado State (843).

Duke’s Ryan Blaum and Toledo’s Brad heaven tied for individual honors with 201 strokes. Price tied for fifth at 206 and was followed by teammates Tyler Docking (tied for 10th at 209), Kevin Ward and Gary Woodland (tied for 39th at 215) and Ryan Rainer (tied for 58th at 220).

KU will travel to La Quinta, Calif., a week from today to compete in the Prestige at the La Quinta Resort-Mountain Course.
