Veda L. Barnhart

? Graveside services for Veda L. Barnhart, 84, Ottawa, will be at 2 p.m. today in Sutton Cemetery in Lone Star.

Mrs. Barnhart died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa.

She was born July 21, 1919, in Baldwin, the daughter of Frank and Iva (Clary) Sutton. She grew up in the Baldwin area and graduated from Appanoose High School in 1937. She moved to the Ottawa area in 1939 and to Richter in 1963.

Mrs. Barnhart was a homemaker. She also worked for Mode O’ Day in Ottawa for 27 years. She was a member of International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

She married Ted Barnhart on Nov. 10, 1938, in Overbrook. He died Oct. 1, 1976.

A son, Larry Barnhart, also died earlier.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley (Barnhart) Rosa, Hoyt; a sister, Helen Schwalm, Baldwin; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. to service time today at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa.

The family suggests memorials to American Lung Assn., sent in care of the mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa 66067.
