Lawrence will mark the 100th anniversary of having a city public library in 2004. The Carnegie Library building, at Ninth and Vermont streets, was built in 1904. To prepare for the event, the Lawrence Public Library needs volunteers to type clippings of old news articles onto word processor documents and scan pictures from articles about the library so they may be put onto the Internet. One or two volunteers will do the work from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
